Florine and Maria

FCE speaking paper 2015

The FCE speaking interview has got 4 parts

In part 1 the interlocutor asks for personal information questions. Also your likes and traditions in your country are favourites of part 1. Too, you may be asked about your future plans for the weekend or your coming holiday. A question about what you did the weekend before the test could come to back to haunt you.

In part 2 the applicants must take turns to speak about a set of two pictures the interlocutor provides them with. Each applicant has to compare both of the photos in their page and answer a question about pictures while the other sees the paper. This takes about a minute. Then the interlocutor asks the applicant who was seeing the photograph a question about his partner's set of pictures

Part 3 is a collaborative task. Participants must talk to each other while the interlocutor and his or her colleague listen to them patiently. Both participants receive a mindmap comprised of a question in the middle sorrounded by five potential solutions. The object of the first task in part 3 is to discuss what the pros and cons of these ideas are. This takes about 2 minutes. Then you get about a minute to decide which of the five ideas would be best

Part 4 starts with some questions related to the topic of part 3 which each applicant must answer in turns. Then the interlocutor makes a question, also having to do with the content of part 3, for the applicants to discuss. Finally, a couple more of questions are asked to each applicant
